There has been many DNA tests that have confirmed Primitivo's relation to Zinfandel, as they are both clones of the Croatian Crljenak varietal, but they are not the same. When grown next to each other in the vineyard they...
Cleanskin Mosquito Hill Cabernet Sauvignon — $79.00
Jack's Comments: These days some of the cleanskins are a bit average and you really have to be careful with what is out in the market at the moment. We taste every wine that comes in and their are a lot wines that we reject because they of the quality of the price, the wines from Mosquito Hill are from a large winery in the area and are very good quality .
Taylors Promised Land Shiraz Cabernet — $145.00

A real stunner of a wine and absolutely fantastic for the price.

It finishes off nice and crisp with an exceptional clean finish.

Perhaps the 07 vintage was especially favourable or the team at Wirra somehow ended up with more quality fruit than usual, but this is the best Scrubby Rise Ive tasted and in all honesty consumed to the last drop. A blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot, this exemplifies the essential honesty and generosity of McLaren Vale red wine and at a bargain price to boot.
