Blush Buying Guide

In order to have a perfectly made-up face, the right blush  is essential. Blush helps recreate the healthy glow one might get from a state of happiness and excitement. Blush also accentuates the cheeks and creates a cheekbone effect.

What To Consider

  • You skin tone determines how the blush will blend. Different types of blush also create different textures and effects.
  • Read the ingredients on the label to make sure you are not allergic to any of them.
  • Try not to buy the cheapest brand you can find.  Poor ingredients can cause skin problems and prevent adequate blending.
  • Pinch your cheeks to see what your natural blush colour is. This will be what you try to match.

Choosing The Right Colour

  • The best colour is your natural one. This helps you avoid looking artificial or overly made-up.
  • The darker your skin, the darker blush colour you are suited for. Women with light skin generally look best in corals and pinks, and women with dark skin look best in burgundies and wine hues.
  • Heavier blushes should be used for more dramatic tones at night, whereas you should opt for a lighter look during the day.
  • Match your blush to the undertones of your lipstick or lip colour. This will create an even effect.
