Boxing

Thinking about a career in prize fighting? First things first, make sure you have the right equipment. Before throwing or eating your first punch, these are some of the essentials to a) keep the teeth in place and b) keep you in shape.

Gloves & Hand Wraps

Before the actual boxing gloves, hand wraps  are the first line of defence against broken knuckles and jammed fingers. Getting your hand wrapped the proper way before putting them in the glove should be priority numero uno if you want to have a long and fruitful career as a boxer.

Second are the actual boxing gloves When looking for a glove, think comfort. It makes no sense to get a glove if, while your pummelling your opponent, your glove is doing the same damage to your hand. So comfort is key. Look for a well padded, durable glove that when worn, conforms to your hand.

Mouth Guards

Boxers typically have nice teeth, and it has nothing to do with their great dental plans. It's all about the mouth guard mate. When looking for a mouth guard, look for two things. Make sure that your guard covers the top and bottom rows of teeth, and also, make sure that it covers your gums: once the gums get damaged, the teeth are sure to follow.

Shoes

The right boxing shoe  is also an essential piece of equipment for a boxer. When you're going to be doing a lot of fast footwork, jumping rope and bouncing around, a comfortable shoe with good ankle support is a must.

Jump Rope

Jumping rope is one of the core techniques boxers use in training. It trains their stamina, rhythm, agility and foot speed all in one. The proper rope to jump with would be a speed rope, not your kid sister's first jump rope The ideal rope would be made from leather material or a hard durable plastic, that when turned, goes fast.

Punching Bags

Before combat in the ring a boxer needs to get used to throwing solid combination punches. In comes the trusty punching bag A punching bag lets you punch it as many times as your heart desires and it NEVER punches you back. When shopping, look for a durable bag that can take a lot of punishment.
