Cat Beds Buying Guide
For your indoor or outdoor kitty, nothing is quite as relaxing as a cat bed--unless you count a fresh warm load of laundry.
This is why you get a cat bed, because it gives kitty a place to sleep that is not on a freshly made set of sheets,
or on your face while you sleep, or in a patch of sunlight in the middle of the floor, or on a rug
which can be hazardous if it is in the way of foot traffic. So to prevent unnecessary cat hair and accidentally stepping on your kitty, giving him his own bed is a nice way to dissuade kitty from sleeping places he should not. Of course, he probably still will, just less often, and most likely when you are out.
What To Look For
With cat beds, there are a lot of different shapes, forms, and additions to choose from. Face it, we love pampering our pets, and it shows on our pet furniture market. Cat beds are fairly self explanatory; cats sleep in them. But, there are many different models which contain a lot of different attachments for kitty bliss.
- How many cats do you have?
- If you have more than one, you might need more than one bed, or just look into a multi-cat bed.
- Is your cat a window-percher?
- They have beds that bolt on to a windowsill for kitties who like the sunlight and view.
- Is your cat secretive?
- If so, maybe a cave shaped bed, or even a bed with a fold over the top would make your kitty feel safe and mysterious.
- What size is your cat?
- Some beds work better for larger cats as they offer lots of space to lounge and stretch.
- How active is your cat?
- Some indoor cats crave activities and exercise. A lot of beds now come with toys attached, or even scratching posts to save your furniture from shredding destruction.
- How much does your cat shed?
- Some beds are easier to clean than others, which is something helpful to keep in mind when purchasing a cat bed.
- Do you want it to match your decor?
- If you are looking for a bed to complete a room, or simply want to stay with your chosen theme, there are many different colours and patterns to choose from.
- Basically, just have fun picking out a bed that works for both you, your cat, and your housing.
