This season, it's all about softly de-constructed looks with a nice matte finish.  The idea is to appear untamed, but in a classy way.  Pulling off the latest trends isn't as tricky as it might sound, and we are here to help you find the perfect style before the season passes you by.

Haircut Trends

The key to your best hair starts with a good haircut.  Whether you are going for a whole new look or just trying to maintain your current 'do, get in to see your stylist at least once a month. 

The Bob

  • This is the play-it-safe look to have.  This low-maintenance cut allows you to experiment with different kinds of styles and textures,  yet still blend in with the crowd.

Long and Flowing

  • By sticking with longer locks, you will have much more flexibility when it comes to creating the season's latest styles (see below).  If you wear it down, aim to achieve body  and waves.  

The Pixie

  • More interesting than the standard bob cut, the pixie style requires little effort and looks fresh and fun.  You can play with messy, tousled locks  or go for a sleek  and sophisticated style.  

Fringed Bangs

  • No matter how long or short your hair may be, this is the essential detail.  If you already have bangs, have them thickened or fringed this season.  If you're not a fan of the fringe, just skip the trend!  

Hair Colour Trends

No matter what your natural (or current) colour may be, this season it's time to crank it up a notch. 

Peroxide Blonde

  • This is in the "in" look right now.  Since this can be a very bold statement, it is best to skip the box  and see a professional colourist.  

Warm Blonde

  • If that white-blonde hue doesn't do it for you, stick with warm shades of blonde.   It looks natural and sun-kissed, and always gives off a radiant shine! 

Bold Brunette

  • If brunette is your thing, look to spice it up this season.  Adding highlights of auburn  or chestnut  to your brown locks will give it some sexy dimension. 

Turn Red

  • A shade of red can be flattering, whether it is a copper red  or a deep burgundy.   Bold hues of red  create instant drama and look gorgeous on women with light eyes.  

Hair Style Trends

Cut back on your amounts of sticky styling products  and let your hair go au natural for these casual yet modern looks. 

Naturally Bohemian

  • For those with medium or long hair, this is the perfect time to just let it be.  Towel-dry  it and give a light spray of product  for soft, summery waves.  

Braids for Play

  • Braids are now popular because they can be casual, for a picnic  or afternoon outing, or they can transform an evening look  into one of elegance and drama. 

Casual-Chic Ponytail

  • Ponytails, half-ponytails, and knots are all the rage this season.  Style your ponytail  and make it look effortless by leaving some room at the crown of your head.  Pull out some pieces in the front to frame your face.   

Off-Center Chignon

  • Just a fancy word for "bun," the chignon is back.  Style it to the side or at the very top of your head for a fun, yet very stylish, new look.  Get out the hairspray  to keep it in place all day and/or night.
