Quebecois band Harmonium are not well known in the United States, but they do manage to maintain a dedicated fanbase. Here, they perform live for a Californian audience, and that notoriously laid back state turns out to be a suitable setting for the band's New Age-y sound. In addition, the strange, often radical commentary of the band makes for some exciting entertainment.

The subject is a harmonium (one of those old Edwardian home organs), with blue and white plates on the wall, and blue and white plaques on the organ. Frames, measures 27 cm by 20 cm - actual painting is 17.25 cm by 11.25 cm (just over 10.1/2 inches by 8 inches, and 6.3/4 inches by 4.1/2 inches). One stain top left side, this is actually by the artists brush dripping .

Written in 1984 by English composer Simon Jeffes (1949-1997), Music for a Found Harmonium has been described as "minimalist folk music," and has been recorded by groups ranging from contemporary music ensembles to Irish folk bands. It has been used in movies, and is widely recognized for its appearance in the soundtrack to the popular Napoleon Dynamite.
