Pizzini Reserve Nebbiolo Coronomento 2003
Luke Lambert Nebbiolo 2007

Clear rosy red in colour with lifted aromatics of raspberry, red cherry, flowers, fennel and damp earth. On the palate light to medium bodied with fresh tangy acidity and firm chalky open knit tannins with juicy flavours of cherry, weak raspberry cordial, fennel and earth. Finishes with a tannic rasp and a red fruit and dried herb aftertaste. Italianate in structure and style, it works best with food, and will be appreciated most by those who value elegance and restraint over size and power. A wine...

Coriole Nebbiolo Rose 2007

2007 Nebbiolo Rose is Coriole’s second release of this vibrant gem. Clean and dry, perfumed, with complex citrus nuances, this is good adult fun indeed. Fresh is best and chilled is popular, but let us suggest this at cellar temperature for a great Winter aperitif.

Vietti Perbacco Nebbiolo Langhe (2006)

A staff favourite here at EEC. Amazing texture and fruit from one of the best producers from Piedmonte. Terrific weight, with varietal characteristics with a new world feel. No better value Nebbiolo on the market. Period.

Longview Nebbiolo Rose
TRENTHAM ESTATE “LA FAMIGLIA” NEBBIOLO 2003

Some varietal character but misses the mark. Good spice and pepper. Light colour. Palate and structure much bigger and tannic than you’d expect, but good fruit. Nice surprise. Nice surprise with the food too. Delicious. Copes well with the endive, rich pork stuffing, garlic, pistachio, herbs.

Tar & Roses Heathcote Nebbiolo - 2006

“This is a lovely Aussie nebbiolo that has all the heady aromatics of –surprise, surprise – tar and roses, so often associated with the variety that originally hails from Piedmont, Italy. Very pretty and fragrant on the nose with its floral notes, also cherries and riper fruit on the palate matched to grippy tannins, lacks some mid-palate weight but tangy with good acidity.”

2006 Joseph Nebbiolo

The Joseph Nebbiolo is dry-grown on a one hectare patch high above the township of Clarendon. There's only 8 barrels of this wine made and it's becoming a must amongst serious collectors. The vines are given the royal treatment - the already small crop is consecutively pruned until all the power in the vines is focused into just two or three bunches per vine. Grhhhh!

La Cantina 2006 Nebbiolo
Primo Estate ’Joseph’ Nebbiolo 2006

The 2007 has a more expansive fragrance than the previous two vintages - with a spicy Turkish delight aroma overlaying the more usual delicate perfume of violets. The tannins are finely grained and there is much finesse in the long savory classic Nebbiolo palate. Left to open up in a big glass, the 2007 reveals a heady perfume of roses, violets and Turkish delight. The palate follows on with undercurrents of layered tar and dried spice.

Roberto Voerzio Langhe Nebbiolo (2006)

"Roberto’s best value wine, this Nebbiolo Langhe impresses with its concentration of aroma and flavour, and its palate weight and power, matched by fi ne-grained tannins (for Nebbiolo) and fantastic length. The wine is excellent drinking now but will benefit from 10-15 years cellaring."

Coriole Nebbiolo Rosé - 2008

An outstanding complex and perfumed wine smelling of roses, violets, spice and leather. There is great weight and structure to the palate of this wine with fresh acidity and wonderful persistence on the finish. A perfect match to alfresco dinning and grilled meats.
