The cable I ordered -- a fibre-optic sorround sound cable -- came through in just two days. They were in, installed and operating on day two! If your "new" iMac has a FireWire 800 you may be able to use the Belkin 6'/1.8m 9-Pin to 6-Pin FireWire 800/400 Cable. I am currently using this cable to connect a Mac Pro (which only has FireWire 800 ports) to a WD external drive which has a FireWire 400 port. This works fine for me.
