These carcasses may be discounted up to $1/kg or $20 per lamb carcass. Reduced skin quality and value. Tiger Grass (Thysanolaena maxima)
Tiger Grass is also excellent for use around your pool. Roots are not invasive, it doesn’t grow too tall, and leaves are easily scooped out of the water, when they fall that is, as it’s not a messy plant. There has been some worry about the fuzzy flower/seed heads on the Tiger Grass; fallen into the water and creating blockage and mess, but these seed heads are easily cut off as they take a long time to ripen, and really would not cause much of a problem if you’re prepared to spend a little bit of... |

Cat Grass
I love this product & so do my cats. I have to keep the container away from them so the grass seeds can grow tall enough to be consumed. I usually buy a couple of containers so when one is consumed the other one is ready to go. My only complaint is the lack of stability in the container, my cats usually manange to tip out the dirt once the grass has been consumed, which means a mess in their cat house. All in all a value for money product. |

Growing Australian Native Plants from Seed
With increasing community recognition of the many problems associated with past clearing of native vegetation, interest in the propagation of indigenous plants has dramatically increased over the past few years. This has led to a greater diversity of native plant species being grown, including native grasses, aquatics, lilies and herbaceous species. This book outlines methods used to propagate native species from seed for small or large scale revegetation, tree planting or direct seeding projects. |

Feathertop wire grass | Primary industries & fisheries | Queensland Government
Feathertop seed is a major irritant and can lead to wool discolouration and cotting, as well as ill-thrift and reduced wool production, especially in young sheep. Sheep may die if ill-thrift is associated with adverse weather events such as heatwaves. Shearing is the only known way to relieve the pain and discomfort that sheep suffer from high levels of seed in the skin and carcass. |
