Casual Work Clothes for Women

Looking casual at work is sometimes difficult to master: you want to look nice, but still feel comfortable. You want to be relaxed, but not too sloppy. Let our guide help you with a few things to remember when picking out your wardrobe for casual Friday  or an informal business trip .

Tops

Exchange those traditional collared shirts  for a few airier numbers depending on the season.

Blouses : These are nice tops to wear because they can be dressed up or dressed down. Consider one with a nice flowery print or a simple white blouse .

Cardigans : For delightful spring weather, these are perfect for dressing up casual tees  or tanks. A neutral colour like beige  or grey  will go with just about anything.

Sweaters : In the winter months, a sweater can be a comfy alternative to a suit jacket . Choose a nice black one or a lighter number with a fun design.

Tank Tops : These are great for layering under tees or cardigans. Nicer tanks like camisoles  have a casual yet fashionable appeal.

Bottoms

You have lots of options that will make you feel comfortable and stylish.

Capris : These are chic way to keep cool in the summer and there are lots of dressy designs in khaki or black, or even nice jean capris.

Jeans : Though more typically regarded as weekend dress, jeans are now more accepted on casual days in the workplace. Dark jeans  have a nice, sleek look to them and are easy to dress up.

Skirts : For the warmer months, these are a nice option that do not have to sacrifice comfort. Consider a linen skirt  or a knee-length denim skirt .

Shoes

The right pair of shoes can dress up any outfit, and in some cases, give your feet a rest too.

Flats : Flats are a comfortable shoe to wear with any outfit. They come in many different colours and range in style and ornamentation.

Heels : Heels can make any casual outfit look dressier. If your feet need a break, try some low-heeled shoes .

Sandals : Fashion sandals are a nice pairing with any breezy outfit.

Slip-Ons : Moccasins  or other snug slip-on shoes can be paired with a casual outfit without making it look messy.

Accessories

A couple more odds and ends to pull your outfit together and have you feeling ready to enter the office feeling cool yet oh-so-understated.

Belts : Use a nice leather belt  or a clasp  piece to tie your ensemble together.

Jewellery : From earrings  to bangles  to long necklaces , a great piece of jewellery can give any outfit that little extra something.

Scarves : Fashion scarves or shawls  come in a variety of colours and can be paired with just about any outfit.
