Coffee Makers Buying Guide

When that alarm clock  rings, you are going to need a good reason to come out from underneath those cosy blankets  And what better a reason than a great cup of joe?  Different coffee makers  brew different forms of your favourite beverage, each giving it a unique taste.  You will want to be sure that you choose the right one, because taking that first heavenly sip can make even the toughest of mornings seem bearable.

Machines and Methods

Percolator

  • Considered the old-school model of coffee makers.
  • Boils coffee, which takes away from its flavour and leaves you with a black sludge of a drink.
  • Considered an antiquated, inferior method of brewing.
  • Not a favourite with coffee enthusiasts.

Automatic Drip

  • Simple, fast, and cost-efficient.
  • Creates a light brew that extracts most of the oils and sediments from the coffee.
  • Newer models often have a wide  variety of high-tech functions, brewing varied amounts to full taste.

French Press

  • Produces a rich, full-bodied cup of coffee with a strong aroma and flavour.
  • Manual pumping makes it easy to use.
  • Coffee must be enjoyed immediately, as there is no heating system present.

Espresso Machines

  • This is quite the investment for the coffee aficionado or for anyone who loves that rich, bold taste.
  • Comes in manual, semi automatic, automatic and super-automatic models, allowing you to be as hands-on or hands-off as you please.

Vacuum Coffee Maker

  • Fascinating to see, this method sucks water from a chamber below into a chamber above, resulting in fresh coffee at the finish.
  • It is thought to brew smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced coffee with a great (yet gritty) flavour.
  • These can be particularly difficult to clean.
