Concealers Buying Guide

Whether you like a natural look for your makeup or enjoy the dramatic effect of wild colours, a good concealer  is a must. Like foundation concealer gives the skin a more even look. However, a concealer can target specific problem areas that foundation can't tackle. Picking the right concealer helps gives you the perfect base ; it comes in a wide range of colours and can help give you a smooth, even look.

What To Consider

  • Concealer should be used sparingly sparingly it has a tendency to cake. Choosing one of a higher quality will help.
  • Different colours of concealer are used to cover specific types of blemishes, so purchasing more than one is not out of the question.
  • There are almost as many "correct" ways to apply concealer as there are colours of it.  Choose the one you feel most comfortable with.
  • Often, the more expensive the concealer, the better quality it is.  You can even find ones that will help moisturise or fight acne!

How to Choose a Multi Tone Concealer

Imperfections can be neutralised with the help of colour concealer. The neutralising colours are on the opposite of the colour wheel.

  • Beige conceals flaws and shadows: also brightens underneath the eye.
  • Mint Green mutes red tones. It is best used for spots, acne, rosacea, and blotches.
  • Yellow conceals bluish bruises, circles under the eye, sun damage, dark spots, and mild red blotching.
  • Lavender neutralises sallow skin and yellowish bruises. It can also remove dark spots on bronze skin.
