Dog Transport Buying Guide
We all know that dogs
provide unconditional love and companionship, so why not pamper them a bit? When it comes to travel,
you will absolutely want your pooch to feel safe, comfortable, and happy away from home. With a multitude of dog carriers
available, this shouldn't be too hard of a task. Read on to learn more about your options.
Types of Dog Carriers
Whether your dog is big
or little,
surely there is something here that is right for the both of you.
For Big Dogs
When you have a big dog, know that he will need some room to stretch his legs a bit, yet you will want to still confine him to his own area. A larger crate is a good idea for travel on an aeroplane, on a boat, in a hotel, or at a camp-site.

Soft Crates - Lightweight and flexible, these are great for those who don't want to carry a bulky crate around.
- These are ideal for non-aeroplane travel and they can keep your dog contained and comfortable at your new destination.
|
Wire Crates - Strong and stable, these old-fashioned crates allow dogs to see their surroundings.
- These are perfect for housebreaking, but are a bad choice for the cargo hold of an aeroplane.
|
Plastic Crates - Sturdy and durable, these crates offer ventilation holes as well as shelter from any outside activity.
- These can be cosy for some dogs, yet claustrophobic for others. It is best to leave a toy
inside for some comfort.

For Little Dogs
Those tiny little poochies will want to get out of the house too. So rather than tiring out their itty bitty legs, consider taking a special carrier along for the ride.

|
Purse Carrier - These are great for toting your stylish pup around town.
- These types of purses allow them to poke their little heads out and see the sights.
|
Rolling Carrier - Rolling your pup around in a little tiny suitcase can be convenient for you and comfortable for him.
- Some are approved by airlines and can be taken in-cabin.
|
Bike Carrier - Sometimes you will just want to bring your pooch along on that bike
excursion. These carriers are perfect for outdoor exploration.
