Food

The best thing about food is that it is so versatile: you can take something as simple as chicken and turn it into chicken tandoori, chicken parmigiana, or chicken tacos. Although all these dishes contain the same main ingredient, they are always different, and always delicious--or not always delicious, but don't worry you'll get that cooking  thing right eventually. Mixing up different ingredients keeps things fresh and fun, so cook some gourmet food,  for a fine dining experience--and to receive praise for your marvellous culinary skills.

Gourmet

What makes a food gourmet? Is it the richness of truffles or the perfectly spreadable texture of foie gras  and pâté the rareness--and costliness--of caviar? Gourmet is all of these things and more.

Chocolates

There is a reason that eating chocolate is the absolute feast for anyone with a sweet tooth--and even some without. If the basic dark milk and white  chocolates are heavenly, think how exciting the gourmet  market can be.

Cheeses

When I meet a person who does not like cheese, I often wonder what traumatic cheese event has led to their aversion--because unless they were chased down and harassed by a man in a cheddar suit, I cannot rationalise disliking the mozzarellas, goudas provolones and bries  of the world. Not to mention the manchegos  and goat  cheeses.

Breads

Every time I step into the market's bread isle, I can never decide whether to choose between the Naan  or the pita, or to just go off and select some freshly baked bakery bread. Then again, I can always buy a bread machine and make all three of them.

Vegetarian and Vegan

If eating meat is not your thing, you may want to find some great vegetarian recipes in a vegetarian/vegan cookbook or check out the links to sites about vegan living from our Vegetarian Resource Page

Seasoning, Herbs & Spices

The trick to any successful dish is a secret ingredient--usually a spice  or an herb. Seasoning  such as sea salt  and olive oil  are what enhance the flavour of a dish, and make the meal special.

Nuts and Seeds

Nuts do more than just adorn bar tables: they are rich in important fats and nutrients, and they are a great healthy snack. Can't choose between almonds  or cashews Why not try a pack of mixed nuts  and get the best of all worlds?

Meats

Meat is the heart of most meals and that is why it is important to get good quality meats with which to cook. If you don't like heavy meats like steak  or pork maybe chicken  or fish  is the best option for you.
